FUSED DICHROIC GLASS: EARRINGS, NECKLACES, PINS/PENDANTS

        After 10 years of producing and selling porcelain jewelry, it just seemed to make sense to "skip the clay and go right to the glaze", fulfilling a lifelong desire to work with glass. The discovery of  "Dichroic Glass" exceeded my expectations of the light capturing properties that are so inherent in this transparent/reflective medium. The combining of a strong emphasis on design and already established jewelry skills has resulted in my current "artwear". 
        The medium I use in my work is called "Dichroic Glass", a fusible glass surface which has been vacuum coated with various metals such as titanium oxide, which allows the glass to both reflect and transmit colors when viewed from different angles. Each piece is carefully designed. The glass is then hand cut and stacked using various layering techniques, and fused together in a kiln creating each piece of dazzling jewelry.
